I was born and raised in Jacksonville, FL (DUVALLLL). I work at Wesleyan University as a social media specialist managing all of their social media accounts including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, TikTok and YouTube.
Although I would like to call myself a creative, I would be lying to not acknowledge my analytical side as well. My graphic design background fuels my creativity to think outside the box, but my favorite subject has always been math! I see life through numbers and data simply doesn’t lie. However, it’s not all about the numbers. I build strategies based on a mix of data and creativity. You cannot predict whether a post will get engagement or not, but you can set up your content for success using a comprehensive strategy.
I was enrolled in the Communication’s Academy in a vocational high school. In this academy, I learned graphic design and video production. I graduated certified in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. I enjoyed graphic design, but knew I didn’t want to pursue that as my full-time career. Since I enjoyed my sociology college class I took in high school, I decided to major in sociology at the University of North Florida. However, feeling the need of a more “practical” degree, I added communication with a concentration in advertising as a second major. I enjoyed the classes within the majors, but still didn’t have an idea of what I wanted to pursue.
During my first semester of college, I got a job as a Student Marketing Assistant for the Construction Management program at my university. I got the opportunity to apply my graphic design skills to build a semesterly print newsletter that was sent to over 1,000 recipients. During this role, I started an internship was with Brunet Garcia Advertising Agency as an account intern. I learned the ins and outs of advertising agencies and although it was a great experience, I quickly knew that wasn’t the path I was interested in. Before graduating, I interned with Kids Hope Alliance as a Communication’s Intern. This was my first hands-on experience running social media accounts and I knew this was the career path I wanted to take.
Anastasia Daniels Advertising was found in the summer of 2020. What started as a mainly graphic design company has now morphed into a social media company. Although I still do graphic design, I now focus on elevating business’s social media presence through strategic content.
